La Porte ISD board approves multi‑item consent agenda, adopts employee compensation resolution

Board President Jeff Martin reviewed the consent items and Trustee Danny Hanks moved to approve them "as listed," a motion seconded by Dee Anne Thomson. The motion passed by a vote of seven to zero: Jeff Martin — aye; Mason Peres — aye; Melissa Crutcher — aye; Danny Hanks — aye; Russell Schoppe — aye; Dee Anne Thomson — aye; Karen Wheeler‑Hall — aye. The consent package included adoption of Resolution No. 2026‑02 to compensate employees for a missed workday due to winter storm weather and approval of the annual financial audit engagement letter for the year ending June 30, 2026.
The consent items also recorded receipt of principals' reports from the district's campuses and noted the La Porte Education Foundation's "Share the Love" mini‑grants program, which awarded more than $9,000 to support classroom initiatives. Several operational items were approved on consent, including a budget amendment, purchase of property insurance, and approval of contracted special education services.
