Kountze ISD approves land-clearing and construction-manager contracts for new elementary

Kountze ISD trustees approved two bond-related contract actions during the July 14 meeting. Trustee Brandon Laird moved to accept Superintendent Shane Reyenga’s recommendation to award R Teel Construction the RFP for the land-clearing project; Trustee Laura Arena seconded and the motion passed unanimously, 6-0.
In a separate vote, trustees approved a contract with N&T Construction Co., Inc. for Construction Manager at Risk services for the new elementary project on Superintendent Reyenga’s recommendation. Trustee Christopher Jones moved the motion and Trustee Missy Jennings seconded; that motion also passed unanimously, 6-0. Board members did not discuss contract dollar amounts or schedules during the public session.
