Leander ISD staff recommended that the board renew the Food Service Management Company (FSMC) contract with Southwest Food Service Excellence for a one-year term covering July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. Sr. Executive Director of Facilities and Operations DeWayne Street presented the contract amendment, which states the contract is renewed for the one-year period and includes price-adjustment provisions tied to the BLS Consumer Price Index (Food Away from Home).
The renewal packet includes Attachment 1 (Fixed Price Meal Rates), Attachment 2 (Food Service Budget) and Attachment 3 (Additional Contract Modifications). The vendor’s CPI calculation in the packet shows a 3.7% increase (November 2024 to November 2025), which the FSMC applied to fixed meal rates for the renewal year. The administration recommended approving the renewal and authorizing the district designee to sign the contract renewal amendment.
