The Chazy Union Free School District Board of Education voted on March 11 to place two propositions on the May 20, 2025 Annual Budget Vote and School Board Election. The first proposition seeks authorization for the board to expend a sum not to exceed an amount to be determined for the 2025–26 school year; the second proposition would raise by tax levy a sum not to exceed $38,000 to support the Chazy Public Library.
As the resolution states, “Resolved, that the Board of Education ... be authorized to raise by tax levy, a sum not to exceed $38,000.00 for the purpose of supporting the Chazy Public Library.” The board directed the District Clerk to advertise the full text of the propositions in the district’s notice of annual meeting. The board also set the vote for Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM in the CCRS Music Room and appointed Joey Trombley chairperson and five inspectors for the election.
Board members voted unanimously to adopt the resolutions and finalize the logistics for the budget vote. The transcript records each motion as carried unanimously; dollar amounts for the main budget proposition will be finalized and published as required by law.
