Residents ask board to ask planning board and OCM to pause dispensary application

During public comment, resident Robert Honeywell asked the town board to send a letter to the Planning Board asking it to defer a dispensary application until the Office of Cannabis Management can determine whether the license was issued properly. Honeywell said he believed the applicants had not given adequate notice to the town board.
Peter Hoffman raised concerns that the license may list a DBA rather than the business's LLC name (he mentioned the name "Gentleman's Hemp" as appearing to be a DBA). Town Attorney Robert Fitzsimmons said he had been in communication with OCM and had explained that the proposed location would be within a historic hamlet and across from a library; the minutes do not record any formal board direction to send a letter.
