Supervisor Clifford Weigelt told the board he has met with Taconic Engineers to explore an addition to the Church Street town office and with the engineering firm about a new court building, which he said "is ready to go out for bids." He said he had met with Mike Tucker of the county IDA to review how PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) programs work and with Centrica representatives and Deputy Supervisor Hook and Highway Superintendent LaMont at the highway garage to gather information for an anticipated solar project.
Weigelt flagged the 401 State Street county building as under review because of high repair costs and said the town is trying to identify the most cost-effective course. He estimated the town's portion of one project could be about $250,000 of a roughly $1,000,000 total, while noting the engineering and bidding process is ongoing.
