Stephen King announced that the town will hold a Comprehensive Plan open house on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to gather public input on the plan update. He said the planning process is scheduling a separate, technical briefing with NYSERDA to discuss Battery Energy Storage Systems on May 7 at 5:30 p.m. in the Library Community Room, limited to town-board groups for Q&A.
Katy Cashen told the board that NYSERDA representatives are impartial technical presenters who will outline the pros and cons of battery energy storage and that the information will be important when the town updates its zoning and the comprehensive plan. The meetings are intended to inform where projects of this type might be permitted under future local rules.
