Somers sends DOT request after resident petition calls for safety fixes at Route 118/Overhill

The board approved a resolution directing the town clerk to forward certified copies to NYSDOT, the governor's office, state legislators and other relevant agencies asking for an updated traffic engineering and safety review that would evaluate crash history, sight lines, speeds, potential signalization, turn lanes, markings and lighting. Board members and emergency-service representatives said the petition and local public-safety concerns support the request.
