Violet Township Trustee Darrin Monhollen told the commissioners The Ohio State University plans to construct a new ambulatory care facility as the project's first phase, with a hospital to follow in a second phase, on property next to the Violet Township administrative offices. Monhollen thanked Utilities Director Tony Vogel for his assistance and said the township believes the project will not affect the lodge or theater facilities next door.
Monhollen said negotiations were lengthy and that several moving parts remain, so a final construction timeline has not yet been established. Vogel said Ohio State intends to coordinate its construction scheduling with Ohio Department of Transportation interchange improvements. Commissioner Jeff Fix called the proposed facility a "fantastic project for the community."
