Mabank ISD honors star students, choir’s 15th consecutive Sweepstakes and powerlifting qualifiers

Superintendent and principals presented superintendent star students from four campuses; choir teacher Catherine Lindsley marked the 15th consecutive Sweepstakes win, and Coach Misty McBride recognized state and regional powerlifting qualifiers and Academic All-State honorees.
The board spotlight began with Superintendent Dr. Marshall and campus principals introducing superintendent star students from Central, Lakeview, Southside and Intermediate campuses. Each student received a trophy and family members took photographs.
High School Varsity Chorale, led by Catherine Lindsley, entered carrying 15 Sweepstakes trophies; Lindsley noted the choir’s 15th consecutive year receiving all 1’s at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest and the students performed "Hebrew Love" for the board. Coach Misty McBride recognized varsity boys and girls powerlifting athletes, listing regional and state placings, including Senior Linsey Cope (1st place at regionals and multiple best-lifter honors) and Senior Ryder Malone (2nd at regionals). "These athletes represent resilience, discipline, and heart," McBride said, adding that they "show up early, they stay late, and they never quit."
