Lubbock ISD explores Texas Tech K–12 partnership after missing LASO grant to launch virtual option

Leaders described the arrangement as largely cost-neutral: the district would receive state funding for participating students and pay Texas Tech for instructional services. Several implementation details remain under discussion, including campus assignment, accountability implications, UIL eligibility, extracurricular participation, GPA calculations, state testing, and access to Career and Technical Education options. District leaders said they aim to finalize program details by the end of July to make the option available for the upcoming school year.
