Auburndale Planning Commission approves minutes, forwards Haire Lane rezoning and Comprehensive Plan update to City Commission

The Planning Commission of the City of Auburndale met July 8 and handled routine business and two substantive recommendations that will go to the City Commission for final action.
Chairman Perry Price declared a quorum and opened the meeting. Commissioners unanimously approved the minutes from the June 3 meeting on a motion by Commissioner Tom Dudash and a second from Commissioner Steve Lawson. The Commission then moved to public hearings. After staff presentations, the Commission voted unanimously to recommend both a Future Land Use amendment and a PD-C1 zoning designation for the annexed Haire Lane property to allow a 34,375-square-foot tent-making and distribution warehouse, and later unanimously recommended a Comprehensive Plan text amendment to advance the city's 2050 planning framework. No members of the public spoke on either substantive item during the hearings.
All formal motions the Commission recorded on July 8 were approved with votes noted as "all ayes." The meeting adjourned at 4:31 p.m.
