The Planning Commission recommended approval of a Future Land Use Map amendment and a Zoning Map amendment for the Foer property at Tschetter Drive and Hwy 92, a vacant parcel of approximately 1.04 acres. City Planner Jesse Pearson told the commission the request would change the property’s status from Polk County Linear Commercial Corridor to the City of Auburndale Commercial Corridor and establish Light Industrial (LI) zoning after annexation.
"The City has received a request for a Future Land Use Map Amendment and Zoning Map Amendment on the following property," Pearson said while describing the annexation request and staff recommendation for approval. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about local street alignment and adjacent zoning; Pearson confirmed Tschetter Drive runs through and that the property to the east is zoned Light Industrial. There were no public comments. Commissioner Danny Chandler moved and Commissioner Steve Lawson seconded recommendations for approval of both amendments; both motions passed unanimously.
The commission’s recommendation will go to the City Commission for final action following the public hearing and staff review.
