The Planning Commission of the City of Auburndale elected Perry Price as chair and Danny Chandler as vice-chair during its Dec. 3 regular meeting. City Planner Jesse Pearson explained that the commission’s Land Development Regulations require the body to nominate and elect a chair and vice-chair from among its members for one-year terms.
"The Planning Commission will elect a Chair to serve for one year," Pearson said in his presentation. Commissioner Dave Holt moved to elect Price as chair; Commissioner Steve Lawson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Holt then moved to elect Danny Chandler as vice-chair, again seconded by Lawson, and that motion also passed unanimously.
The votes came at the start of routine business. The commission also approved minutes from its Oct. 1, 2024 meeting by unanimous vote. These officer elections set the panel’s leadership for the coming year and allow the commission to proceed with public hearings on several annexation and zoning matters.
