The Town of Claverack Planning Board accepted a Special Exception Permit renewal application from SBA VII, LLC for a telecommunication tower at 1262 Route 23 and set a public hearing for June 15, 2026. The motion to accept the application as complete was made by Stephen King and seconded by Morgan Klima; all members voted in favor.
A representative identified only as Hailey told the board the renewal is for a 180-foot monopole tower and said, "this is a 180’ high monopole tower with only one owner with a 3 scepter array and an equipment shed that is all enclosed with a fence." Town Engineer Rob Fitzsimmons and board member George Schmitt reported inspection and structural-review items were satisfactory. The board directed the applicant to provide the names and mailing addresses of abutting property owners within 300 feet, a standard requirement for renewal notifications under Town of Claverack code.
