Jean Potter presented the Planning & Zoning Administrator's proposed 2026 budget to the Marquette County Planning and Zoning Committee on Aug. 7, 2025. Kathy Jo Locke moved to approve the budget and forward it to the Executive & Finance committee; Dave Benson seconded. After discussion the motion passed 3-2, with Chair Judi Nigbor and John Bennett recorded as voting no.
Unlike the other departmental budgets, the Planning & Zoning Administrator budget drew a split vote at the committee level. The minutes do not record detailed arguments for the no votes; the motion carried and the budget will move to the Executive & Finance committee for further consideration.
