Mabank ISD honors students, first responders and FFA teams; Ag auction raises $150,000

Mabank ISD used its May 18 meeting to spotlight students, staff and community contributors. High School Principal Michael Rowland described an incident in the gym where district employees and City of Mabank first responders assisted a student named Lexi; Superintendent Dr. Russell Marshall presented certificates to the responders named in the minutes.
Coach and program presentations followed, including varsity baseball, golf, boys and girls track achievements and several new school records. Ag Teacher Beau Stutts listed FFA teams that qualified for state competition in poultry, forage and vet tech categories. Secretary Robby Teague reported that the Ag Department’s 35th Annual Ag Auction (May 9) raised $150,000 with roughly 450 in attendance and that the auction would give $50,000 to a teacher’s family coping with a serious illness; Teague described the donation as "pretty special."
