Amanda moved to approve the contract and hire Richard Wright; Tanya seconded. The motion carried 6–0. The board also approved removing district authority from Garth Oliver and Brett Springston (the transcript shows two spellings for the latter) and adding Richard Wright as a district authority/approver/signer; the removal and addition passed 6–0 on a motion by Chad and a second from Steven.
The personnel and signatory changes followed a closed-session discussion of personnel and superintendent compensation under the Texas Government Code. The transcript records the closed session start at 7:11 p.m. and reconvening at 7:27 p.m.
