Town of Clifton board approves routine motions, authorizes NFSD payments

In formal action, the board approved the minutes with changes (motion by Council Member William Griffin, second by Mary Zuhlsdorf) and then voted to authorize the Deputy Supervisor to sign Department of Transportation paperwork for culvert rehabilitation on NYS-3 over Peavine Creek (motion by Zuhlsdorf, second by Blackmer). On the NFSD project the board approved a motion to authorize the Deputy Supervisor to pay a project payment and separately authorized the deputy supervisor to approve all future payments related to the NFSD project; both NFSD motions passed with "Ayes = 4, Noes = 0, motion carried."
Other motions approved included hiring two applicant lifeguards while retaining three returning lifeguards (motion by Griffin, second by Blackmer); approval of plaque wording for Chuck Hooven (motion by Zuhlsdorf, second by Griffin); authorizing repair of two panels on the town barn door for approximately $2,600 (motion by Griffin, second by Blackmer); and directing staff to draft a town culvert-pipe policy (motion by Blackmer, second by Zuhlsdorf). Financial reports from the Supervisor and Town Clerk were approved and the board audited and approved the bills. The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m. after a unanimous adjournment vote.
