Lindsay ISD board accepts resignation of vice president Brian Manhart

Jacob Fuhrmann moved to accept the resignation and Chris Garner seconded; the motion passed 5-0. Cope told the board they have 180 days to fill the vacancy and may either call a special election or appoint someone to serve through May 2027. The minutes say the seat will appear on the May 2027 election to fill the remaining two-year term if not filled by appointment.
No appointment or special election was authorized during the meeting; the board requested no immediate action, and the district will follow statutory timelines for filling the vacancy.
