At its Jan. 12 meeting, Marble Falls ISD recognized several students and staff for exemplary contributions. Principal Kara Gasaway and Superintendent Dr. Jeff Gasaway presented Superintendent's Awards to fifth-grade students Evelyn Perez and Charlie Moyer. Dr. Missy Barrington and Kara Gasaway honored Kristy Brewer, reading specialist at Marble Falls Elementary, with the Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Award; the minutes note colleagues praised her connections with students.
The board also presented Spotlights on Excellence and Engagement to Rumaldo Martin, a middle school Spanish teacher, and Kayla Markert, a Highland Lakes Elementary teacher. A nomination video from Pam Pond was shown for Mr. Martin that highlighted classroom connections and instructional clarity. The recognitions were ceremonial and no formal board action was required.
