Departing superintendent reflects on tenure, bond and academic gains

“Your love for our children was evident in everything you did,” a board member said in tribute; Dr. Ball replied, “It's a blessing, and I thank you, each and every 1 of you board members, for this this privilege that you gave me.” She named senior staff and principals and said she will remain involved during the transition.
The remarks were personal and ceremonial in tone; no new policy or contractual terms were announced during her address. The board earlier moved to accept her resignation in open session after consulting in closed session and authorized documentation implementing the personnel actions.
