"It's certainly not what it was last year...we have a long runway, if you will, to sell tickets to those," he said, outlining ticketing trends and increased interest from outside Du Bois County. He also said production costs for an anticipated Scotty McCreery date made that engagement financially unworkable: "the cost just outweighed the benefit, unfortunately."
Kyle said staff had resumed outreach on the city's public art policy and reviewed elements of the city's draft comprehensive plan that reference support for the arts, and he said the department is seeking a facilitator for an upcoming strategic planning session to update the board's multi-year plan.
Those program and planning updates set staff priorities for fall marketing, outreach and contract follow-up.
