Board approves contract for MHS practice gym after schematic shows $627,000 under-budget estimate

Moses told trustees the project is currently estimated to be $627,000 under budget at this design stage. The Board approved, on the consent agenda, a contract with Mazanec Construction for the MHS gym and locker room addition and delegated authority to the superintendent to execute the contract on behalf of the Board.
The contract approval was bundled into consent agenda item 10A and carried with unanimous support in that vote (For: Jordan Barry, Jonathan Green, Rick Tullis, Susan Vick, Pam Watts, Colin Witt; Absent: Brad Alford). The schematic presentation and the contract authorization together move the project into procurement and execution phases pending standard contract administration steps.
