Medina ISD trustees approve routine items, review budget and hear grant update

The Medina Independent School District Board of Trustees met in regular session on June 22, 2026. Vice President David Derry called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., noting a quorum and that notice was posted under the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 551).
Superintendent Lindsey Kunz presented department reports. Business Manager Charles Orr reviewed the budget summary, check register, quarterly investment report and the compensation manual; Principal Gary Oliver presented a campus report. The board approved routine business and personnel items by recorded motions, each passing 5-0. The minutes record that the board adjourned into closed session under Chapter 551.074; the minutes also contain an apparent timing inconsistency (they state closed session began at 6:46 p.m. and the board returned to open session at 6:25 p.m.). The minutes show the meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
