Maypearl ISD certifies May 2 results; Wright, Cooper and Ramirez sworn in

The Maypearl Independent School District board read and certified the May 2, 2026 election canvass at its special meeting on May 12. Superintendent Dr. Joshua Martin read the totals aloud: Jarod Wright 190 votes, Steve Cooper 154, and Annette Kennedy 81. The minutes record that the two highest vote-getters were sworn into office by a notary public and HR Director Andrea Shearman.
The minutes also record that Jerry Ramirez was sworn in to a one-year term after running unopposed for a vacant seat on the board. The certification and oath-taking immediately preceded the board’s reorganization and motions to elect officers.
