Board approves dual-enrollment MOU with Texas Southmost College to add Maritime Business pathway

CTE Director Juan Garza described the agreement as establishing a Maritime Business pathway that would provide students access to coursework in logistics, international trade and port operations. Garza said the courses would transfer to any university, while a specific "Maritime Business" degree track is offered only through Texas A&M. He added that staff have already begun gauging student interest and that initial response has been strong. The board approved the MOU 7-0.
The MOU expands dual-enrollment options and is intended to create a career pathway aligned with port-region workforce needs.
