Interim Superintendent Dr. Alicia Noyola said the district conducted RFPs last year that produced good rates, but market changes since then could yield improved opportunities. Trustees approved the request by motion from Rachel Trevino with a second from Ricardo Hinojosa; the motion passed unanimously, 7-0.
The minutes note the administration will confirm notification processes with legal counsel before sending non-renewal notices to carriers.
