Trustees approve 2026-27 budget calendar and a General Operating Fund amendment

Interim Superintendent Dr. Alicia Noyola said the planning process will begin later this year because there was no legislative session affecting the district’s budget; the first budget workshop is scheduled June 9, 2026. Trustee Rachel Trevino moved to approve the calendar; the motion passed 7-0.
On a separate motion, the board approved Budget Amendment General Operating Fund #3. Dr. Noyola told trustees the amendment realigns monies within Function 52 (safety) and state compensatory funds rather than increasing total funds. Rachel Trevino moved and Nancy Vallejo seconded; the vote was 7-0.
