Medina Valley Independent School District trustees received an update on capital projects and signaled the start of a formal facility‑naming process at their July 27, 2026 regular meeting.
Joe Biediger, identified in the minutes as Construction Committee chair, introduced a construction briefing presented by Mr. Barajas that listed current projects: Creek View High School, the Medina Valley High School Ag/JROTC building, Medina Valley ISD Middle School #3 and Elementary #7. The briefing also aligned with Bond 2023 and Bond 2024 capital projects reports that the board received during the meeting.
Superintendent Emilie Lorenz reviewed Board Policy CW (Local) on naming facilities and "the Board declared their intent to begin the process to name Middle School #3 and the MVHS Stadium," initiating the policy‑required steps for naming. The declaration places the item into the board's administrative process for solicitations, reviews and eventual action under district policy.
The board did not take a final naming vote at the July 27 meeting; the intent declaration begins the formal process and next steps will be administrative and procedural, including applying Policy CW (Local) criteria and community engagement as required.
