Council moves multiple contract awards, change orders and grant agreements to consent

Council reviewed an extended list of public-works items and moved them to the consent agenda without debate. Notable items included acceptance of completed work on the Freight House window-and-door replacement contract ($779,532.27), a $518,820 acceptance for the 2025 residential alley program, Glass Bell Street rehabilitation ($283,985.65), and an engineering services contract amendment for the water pollution control plant blower replacement that increases the contract by $90,800.
Council also noted a grant agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation for up to $549,256 for the South Clark Street (Bridal South) bridge replacement project and a $125,000 grant from the Great Outdoors Foundation for the Goose Creek Park environmental restoration project. City Engineer Shadd clarified that the Eastern Avenue widening project is not directly tied to federal bridge funding but would improve intersection capacity: "It is not directly tied to, the bridge project itself that is funded through, STBG federal funding," he said. All items were moved to the consent agenda for routine adoption.
