The Village of Cold Spring Zoning Board of Appeals on June 24 scheduled a public hearing for July 22, 2025, at 7:00 PM to consider a requested 3-foot rear setback variance for a proposed 25-by-50-foot pavilion at 1 Depot Square.
John Martin, a board member, moved to schedule the hearing; Marianne Remy, a board member, seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 4-0-0, with Chair Eric Wirth and member Billy Fields joining Martin and Remy in the vote. The board recorded that the applicant provided photographs, construction plans and the property deed in support of the application.
The variance request concerns a three-foot encroachment into the required rear setback for parcel 48.12-2-1. The board did not act on the variance itself on June 24; it only set the public hearing date and time to accept public comment and allow further review. The hearing will be the next formal opportunity for neighbors and interested parties to present concerns or support related to the pavilion proposal.
