Council authorizes interim administrator to contract with Lucy Hale for prosecutor services

The Canby City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 1674 on Aug. 5, allowing the interim city administrator to contract with Lucy Hale to provide city prosecutor services. Council president said legal counsel reviewed and clarified language between first and second readings to address questions raised earlier.
The ordinance was moved and seconded and passed on a roll call vote recorded as 6–0. Councilors expressed appreciation for staff and legal counsel’s work to make the contract language clearer prior to final adoption.
