St. Lawrence County Legislator Larry Denesha told the Town of Clifton board that at the county’s full board meeting National Grid representatives explained factors driving higher electricity bills: supply cost increases of roughly 30 percent and about a 20 percent rise in usage compared with the previous year. Denesha also relayed a reported breakdown for where energy dollars go (38% supply, 18% taxes and fees, 11% capital investment and 33% maintenance).
Denesha informed the board that the county clerk’s office will offer services at the Town of Fine municipal building on the first Wednesday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Services listed include pistol permit transactions, real property recordings and information, DBA filings, military discharge recordings and copies, civil filings, notary services and, in the near future, passport services and DMV. He also noted the county reappointed Don Chambers as Superintendent of Highways and that the county declared March Women’s History Month.
