Residents urge 250th‑anniversary planning and caution on using fund balance

Denesha criticized the proposal to use $5 million of the fund balance in the preliminary 2026 budget and cited county SNAP numbers to argue for saving reserves.
The board did not reject either suggestion in the minutes; the anniversary idea was recorded as public comment and the budget was adopted separately. The minutes show the board may revisit community events and fund-balance policy in future meetings.
