Mission CISD honors students, teams and staff; PCAT names district bus driver of the year
Summary
Mission CISD presented multiple student and team recognitions across academics, arts and athletics and received a district bus driver of the year award from PCAT; awards were presented by District Public Relations and partner organizations.
At the May 13 meeting the Mission CISD Board of Trustees heard an awards and recognitions segment presented by Public Relations Director Dimitra Trejo. The board recognized individual student achievements (for example, Bryan Elementary student Luis Chapa named an American Heart Association Kids Heart Champion), multiple UIL and VASE regional qualifiers and state qualifiers across Mission Collegiate High School, Mission High School and Veterans Memorial High School, and district recognition for music education programming.
Separately, Kelly Pedrotti representing the Property Casualty Alliance of Texas (PCAT) presented the 2025-2026 PCAT District Bus Driver of the Year award to Aracely Salinas. The recognitions cover academics, performing arts, and athletics across district high schools and provide public acknowledgement of student and staff accomplishment.
