Mission CISD board approves personnel contracts, declines counselor recommendation at Leal Elementary

After returning from executive session May 13, the Mission CISD Board of Trustees approved a package of personnel contract actions including re-employment of probationary contract staff, terminations of probationary employees, renewals of term-contract employees, proposals for non-renewal and offers of non-Chapter 21 contracts. Trustee Natividad Sosa moved approval; Trustee Iris Iglesias seconded; vote recorded Yea 4, Nay 0, Absent 3.
The board also recorded the superintendent's recommendation relating to staffing and specifically did not recommend filling a counselor position at Leal Elementary at this time. The minutes show the personnel actions were discussed in executive session under Texas Gov't Code §551.074 and then approved in open session.
