Medina Valley ISD board appoints Kelly Van Sickle to SMD #5, administers oath

The Medina Valley Independent School District Board of Trustees appointed Kelly Van Sickle to represent Single Member District #5 for a one-year term ending at the canvass of the May 2027 election. Trustee Matt Castiglione made the motion, Trustee Joe Biediger seconded it, and the minutes record that "All of the Board Members voted for and the Motion passed." Van Sickle took his seat at the dais and was administered the oath of office.
Following the appointment, Board President Nathan Fillinger reassigned committee memberships: he removed himself from the Safety & Security Committee and appointed Van Sickle, and removed Trustee Matt Castiglione from the Curriculum Committee and appointed Van Sickle to that committee as well. The board also noted upcoming meeting dates: a budget/curriculum workshop scheduled for July 15, 2026, and the next regular meeting set for July 27, 2026.
