Trustee Matt Castiglione moved “to adopt the Resolution Canvassing the Returns and Declaring the Results of the Trustee Elections as presented,” seconded by Ben Juarez; "All of the Board Members voted for and the Motion passed." According to the resolution, combined Medina and Bexar County returns gave Nathan Fillinger 298 votes and Blane Nash 274 votes. Other candidates named in the returns were Andrew Carawan (total 140) and Toby Castillo Walters (total 177). The resolution also records county-level subtotals (Medina County: 694 votes; Bexar County: 195 votes) as part of the official canvass.
The board’s action formalizes certification required after a canvass and authorizes the board’s canvassing authority to certify results in Medina County. The resolution text states that the meeting at which the canvass took place met open-meeting requirements under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.
