The Mendon Planning Board reviewed multiple site applications and declined to take final action Tuesday, asking applicants for clearer grading and drainage plans before any approvals. Chair (Speaker 1) led the session and repeatedly pressed for plan revisions and supporting technical data.
Engineers and reviewers told applicants that the submitted plans did not show realistic regrading or profiles for the proposed new driveway and that any regrading would increase the project's area of disturbance. "If you do have to regrade there, that's gonna add to your area of disturbance," the engineer said, urging applicants to show updated limits on revised drawings. The board also noted missing submittal items including tax/account numbers and construction‑sequence notes.
Several members said they were uncomfortable voting with the current plans. "I'm not okay with that conditional quality — I'd like to see the drawings revised before I would vote," one committee member said. The clerk announced a target date for revised submittals in time for the board's next meeting on Aug. 19.
The board did not record any motions or votes on the items discussed; members asked staff to distribute MRB comments and to forward meeting minutes and the board's concerns to the town board as appropriate.
