The Mount Vernon ISD Board of Trustees approved several district contracts and insurance renewals Aug. 12.
Trustees awarded a lawn-care annual partial maintenance contract to Daryl Boyd Lawn Service of Mt. Pleasant for $64,800 to cover 36 mowings per year. The board also approved a student insurance policy with Health Special Risk, Inc. for $55,510 and $1,608 in catastrophic coverage. Separately, the board approved renewal of property and casualty insurance with Texas RMC for $477,910 for the 2024–25 school year.
Each contract was approved on unanimous 6-0 votes recorded in the minutes. The motions included the vendor names and dollar amounts; the minutes do not record additional procurement detail such as the procurement method (competitive bid vs. sole source) or contract length beyond the single-year renewal/annual service descriptions.
