MWPISD schedules public hearing on 2025-26 budget and reviews proposed tax rates

At a special meeting Aug. 6, 2025, Chief Financial Officer Kati Jones provided a workshop introducing and reviewing the district’s proposed 2025-26 budget, the proposed Maintenance & Operations (M&O) tax rate and the Interest & Sinking (I&S) tax rate, and local (199) fund revenue and expenditure considerations. Trustees were given materials to inform their review ahead of the regular meeting on Aug. 25, when the board will consider the budget for approval.
Board President Donna Garcia set a public hearing on the proposed budget and tax rates to be held prior to the Aug. 25 regular meeting, beginning at 6:20 p.m. The hearing will allow public discussion of the proposed M&O and I&S rates and the district’s plan for local funds; the proposed budget remains subject to formal approval at the Aug. 25 meeting.
