The MONAHANS-WICKETT-PYOTE ISD Board of Trustees on June 22 unanimously designated Ward County Tax Assessor-Collector Vicki Heflin as the officer charged with calculating the district’s effective and rollback tax rates for fiscal 2026–2027.
Mrs. Kati Jones, the district chief financial officer, told trustees that "State law requires the Board of Trustees to annually designate an officer or employee responsible for calculating the District’s no-new-revenue tax rate and voter-approval tax rate for the upcoming fiscal/school year." The motion, made by Roy Porras and seconded by Nancy Upchurch, passed on a 6–0 vote.
