The Muleshoe Independent School District Board voted 6-1 on May 11 to approve a two-year extension of the superintendent's contract that includes a 3% salary increase and a vehicle allowance folded into the base salary. The motion to approve the extension was presented by Ashley Turnbow and seconded by Raquel Kirven; roll-call votes recorded six yes and one no (Chad Beall).
Board members entered an executive session at 8:40 p.m. under Texas open-meetings citations for personnel matters and returned to open session at 9:31 p.m., after which the board took the recorded vote. The contract extension and compensation changes were adopted as the board's formal action in open session.
