Kevin Morris was elected president of the Muleshoe Independent School District Board in a 4-3 vote during the board's May 11, 2026 reorganization meeting. The nominations for president were split between Morris and incumbent Ashley Turnbow; the roll-call tally recorded four votes for Morris and three for Turnbow.
The board also elected JesFAs Tovar Jr. as vice president by a 4-3 vote and re-elected Raquel Kirven as secretary by unanimous vote. Nominations were made from the floor and the board recorded individual roll-call votes for each officer position. The board followed the officer elections by approving an update to the Board Procedures manual by a unanimous 7-0 vote.
