The Mount Vernon ISD Board of Trustees on Oct. 14 approved a $190,246 change order to extend the bus canopy to the corner of the middle school. Board President Leigh Anne Ramsay moved the approval and Kyle Clayton seconded; the motion passed 7-0.
Board discussion noted that the contract adjustment increases the current work by $190,246 but that the "overall difference is only $50,246," and that the cost will be covered from the owner's contingency rather than increasing the Guaranteed Maximum Price. The minutes list owner's contingency calculations that show $449,754 remaining after accounting for the change order and prior adjustments (minutes show a $500,000 baseline plus $140,000 added from a door change, yielding $640,000 less the $190,246 change).
