The Commission of Correction voted to approve a six-month extension allowing the New York City Department of Corrections to continue using programming desks in several level 1 enhanced supervision housing units, staff said.
A staff presenter said the requested relief was from regulation '70 75.4' to permit continued use of programming desks in housing units 11, 12, 13 and 50/15 at the facility identified in the presentation, and that commission staff "recommend approval for 6 months with 9 conditions as indicated in the write up." The presenter added that "no significant issues have been reported in the last 6 months."
