MWPISD recognizes Class of 2026, regional athletes and staff achievements
Summary
The Board honored the Class of 2026 valedictorian and salutatorian, multiple regional and state qualifiers in athletics and UIL/choir advancement, and acknowledged a donation from the Monahans Celebrates Every Mind Foundation.
The Board recognized graduating seniors, campus teams and staff accomplishments across several categories. The meeting named Riley Sides as valedictorian and Colt Beckham as salutatorian and acknowledged regional and state athletic qualifiers, a Unified Track state team and the MHS softball bi-district qualifying team.
Administrators also recognized teachers and students of the month, members of the Leader in Me Lighthouse Committee, individuals advancing to UIL regional academic competitions and choir members who advanced to All-Region performance; the choir performed the Star-Spangled Banner during the recognitions portion of the meeting. A donation from the Monahans Celebrates Every Mind Foundation (representatives Maritza Jimenez and Ed Lopez) was also acknowledged.
