District staff presented the proposed 2026–2027 Employee Compensation Plan during the meeting. Assistant Superintendent Edilberto Flores introduced the plan as part of the presentations; the board did not take an immediate open-session vote to adopt that compensation plan during the time of presentation.
Later the board entered executive session at 9:08 p.m. under Texas Government Code §§551.071 (consultation with attorney) and 551.074 (personnel matters) to discuss the compensation plan and personnel recommendations. After returning to open session at 11:04 p.m., trustees approved the Superintendent's two recommended hires for Special Education Diagnostician positions by a 6–0 vote with one member absent.
