The board approved the 15 Pearl Avenue proposal with requested clarifications: two 4‑ft by 18‑inch transom windows will be added to the west garage wall and a sunburst detail will be added to the new front‑porch arch. Architect Damon Femra and the applicant discussed pergola height; some members suggested lowering the pergola and using low‑maintenance materials such as composite or acetylated wood.
Femra told the board that the garage was originally drawn wider than municipal allowance and that the extra storage space was moved to the rear; he explained the owner "wanted the extra space for storage, so we pushed it to the back of the house." The board recommended high transom windows for security and light, and agreed on a sunburst or hanging light feature for the arch. A motion reflecting the transom windows and sunburst was made, seconded and carried; staff will note the agreed changes for construction documents.
The meeting adjourned following the approval.
